Hey there!
I’m Matthew Kennedy.
I’m a videographer based in the Cincinnati area and I work on lots of projects like music videos, documentaries, short films, and of course, weddings.
My favorite part of working on all of these different types of projects is always the story.
Being able to help someone tell their story through video has always been such a great creative outlet for me.
It all started in 2014 when I began college at Northern Kentucky University studying Computer Information Technology.
Little did I know that a couple of years into my classes that I would come to HATE my major. Knowing that computer stuff just wasn’t going to cut it anymore, I decided that I was going to switch my major.
A buddy of mine, also attending NKU, was taking courses for Electronic Media and Broadcasting, which was a fancy way of putting “video production.” Although I wasn’t savvy with a camera, I did have an interest in video editing, so I made the switch.
Fast forward a couple more years and everything changed. Learning how cameras, lighting, audio, and storytelling worked had consumed me. I eventually bought a cheap Nikon camera to dip my toes into the film/photo world, not knowing just where that would take me…
And here we are. 80+ weddings, many music videos, documentaries, and other projects later.
A few fun facts about me:
I have a Bengals replica helmet that is signed by Ja’Marr Chase.
I studied abroad to Guatemala and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I miss the coffee so much every single day.
It took me 6 1/2 years to graduate from college. Me switching my major 2 years in didn’t help much.
My favorite single player video games of all time are Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher 3, and Tears of the Kingdom.
My favorite online games are Destiny, Rocket League, and Battlefield.
Sour beer, especially anything Urban Artifact, is my go to.
I broke my arm twice in the span of two months skateboarding when I was younger.
Enough about me. I want to get to know YOU!
